Winter 2022-2023 update


Hi there. Today is February 20th, and right now it is Presidents' Day in the US (whatever that entails since most companies do not get the day off for this holiday), Fat Tuesday is tomorrow, Ash Wednesday is the day after tomorrow, and in the verse of this world, February 20th is a date related to a major character (though this relation is compounded by an event that occurs, nominally, four days after Ash Wednesday known as Quadragesima Sunday).

I had tried to get the latest build out around the turn of the year - and had planned to push an announcement about two weeks past January to show that I am still alive, though I forgot to hit publish.

A bunch of coding roadblocks have come up - and I am currently in progress trying to fix them. Despite this, I have released a new build today.

A lot of them are related to the dialogue system. At the time of this writing, there is only some logic implemented, but it is unpolished, and you cannot do much with it beyond scripting a basic dialogue sequence. I do not even have that many test cases I can make to help production.

On the other hand, here is what I have added thus far compared to last build:
* Naming screens
* Interactable overworld objects:
- An object to heal the crew
- An object to reorder the crew
* Framework to create new classes of objects in the above

Level design is still WIP.

I am likely going to defer a polished dialogue system to next build (maybe around Eastertide if I am lucky?) but for now, feel free to play with what I have thus far.
